Is this possible? I put a HP d30 in my 2000xj and the driveshaft hit's the downpipe right before the 2 pipes join into one. Just need to know if the older style 1 piece manifold will bolt up and replace the 2 piece manifold or not. I know if i do, ill need the older style down pipe too, which i'm not too worried about.

And no, mine doesn't have the 2 precats. I think they started that in late 00, or early 01? So that isn't a problem.

Where the Exhaust ports exit your 2000s 0331 cylinder head, the earlier tubular headers(Renix1987-1990, HO1991-1999) will Not cover up the bottom of exhaust port runner.

Crap. Any recommendations on what to do? Don't really have time to do a head swap right now and don't wanna put another low pinion in it.

Useless Jeep response: Lift it until it's not a problem!

(sorry, I'm bored)

Have you looked for an aftermarket manifold for Federal Emissions 2000 4.0s?

yeah, but none of them come with the downpipe (which is the part getting smashed.) I would need an old exhaust manifold and old style downpipe, or an aftermarket downpipe with more clearance, which i can't find.

Any thought on getting a muffler shop to bend the down pipe around the drive shaft. Might be possible but idk.

Well I feel like a complete moron for not thinking about this fix... Went to my buddies parents exhaust shop and they took a look at it. Ended up just taking two huge pry bars and put one up near the manifold, and one near the first bend in the S pipe and just pushed it over. It clears great now!
