All,
I have a 1995 XJ 251K miles with 2.5l, AX5, NP231, with Chrysler 8 1/4" and dana 30 with 4.10 gears. I replaced the clutch with a cheap ($90) clutch from Advance Auto Parts at 190K.
I noticed that when I am in 5th gear on the highway, I have like a slip in the drive line. The Jeep jerks, like something slipped and then catches. It happens in 4th gear as well. Worse after I have been driving awhile and when going up hills. Only slips for a little bit and then always catches, not a consistent slip. Is this the clutch?
If i stop a red light in 1st gear and floor it nothing slips. What would cause slippage only in high gear? why does it catch right away. I checked the fluid in the trans and the t-case and they are full and it looks good.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Kevin
