Default Power windows and door locks

So they all work. Though 1 door doesn't lock with the power locks. Not really worried about that.

The issue is that the windows roll down and up very slowly. All of them. Then the door locks are slow as well. I have to click it a couple times to get the locks to move and even hold it for a couple seconds. Its not snappy at all and the front lock faster then the rear.

Is it a bad relay? And if so, where are they found?

I had the same problem. My solution was to pull the panels off and lubricated everything especially the clasp on the edge of the doors. They were especially gunked up.

my 90model did this as well, there was a write up on either this forum or naxja that basically says you need to add a relay in to give it more juice. worked well for me. sorry i cannot find the link, but it's worth a search for

Same problem on my 87. Down fast, up slow. Locks are slow on one door. Up to this point I have just dealt with it. Haven't researched it much but from what I have I'd say dar83 is right.

I have a 95 that I bought out of south Florida that had the same trouble.Seems to me that the heat dries out the rubber parts inside the door for the lock pull rods and solenoid boots.I was able to get them to work by lubericating all the linkages with silicone. The rubber links to the rods seem to stick to one another.
The windows were same problem, but my drivers door was so bad I went to the jy and got another. The grease in the gearbox dries out and the sliders stick in the tubes.Take the door panels off and you can see the tube that the guides slide in and connects to the motor. The back side of the tube, toward the door skin has a slot in it for the guides, you can spray silicone in there too

this is how i fixed mine,
I pulled out the circuit from the passenger's side and I saw that some of the soldering where the pins of the plug was cracked.. I just soldered back everything with a soldering iron. this made everything work like new.
I also did lubricate everything for it can roll up and down smoother..
you can try checking your circuit board too.

lubrication, and clean the contacts on the driver's door switch.

a relay would be a good idea...the power door harness is seperate of the body harness, and has a plug-in power supply (red) that plugs in to the face of the fuse box on the driver's side below and to the left of the brake booster. cut that wire, get a relay and pig tail, supply 12v straight from the battery to the proper pin on the relay connector, ground it, hook the power output to the side of the wire that goes to the door harness, and hook the trigger back up to the same location on the fuse box. it will come on only with accessory, as before. it is fused, as before...and it will not drain your battery.

Default similar problem

So I have a similar problem. I have a 2002 jeep grand cherokee. For the last few weeks, everytime my driver's side door was open, locks, windows, and mirrors wouldn't work. Today, nothing works whether the drivers side door is open or closed. Any ideas?

This is a great write up. I did the lock fix and it worked great. There is a window fix as well in this write up. I have not done it yet though.
