Power windows
So I bought the gf a 1999 xj,doing some repairs and stuff the only problem that Iam having a issue with is that the power windows don't work. I've read that it's a common problem but the difference is that in most cases u can still control the windows from the drivers console,on mine none of the consoles work anyone have any ideas of where to start ? Thanks

Fuse, pull the driver controls out and check the plug, or all 4 motors went bad. Bang on the driver door while trying to roll it down and it might tell you if you have a bad motor or not

I would start by checking the wires from the driver side window control panel. Assuming you already checked the fuse for the windows. Typically the wire from the window lockout button (sometimes the button itself) goes bad. This is why the driver controls work and the others stop working. In your case it may be multiple wires that have been severed. If all the wires are intact you may try replacing the driver side window control module itself.
I'm new at this myself so but have a similar issue and that is going to be my plan of attack. Also I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night.

Or, grab a soldering gun and some solder and simply take apart the module, pop off the switches and place new solder over the connections.
Apparently there was a manufacturer defect in the solder that caused it to crack over time with vibrations.
Worked like a champ on my cherokee. All locks and windows now work with their respective door switches.

X2 on broken wires in the grommet between the door and the chassis. I had half a dozen broken wires when I pulled my harness out. Fixed my window issue.
