Sup everyone, I have an issue with the power windows on my 99 xj Classic. All the windows go up and down fine through the drivers switch panel. Now when you try each other door they will not work. I took the door panels off and the plugs were clean and connected securely. I also checked the fuses and everything was good. I don't know what else to check. Any advice or tips are truly appreciated. Thanks

I put a link for you to try. It worked great for me and several others on here. Hope it works for you. BTW, DO NOT use a paper clip. Use a piece of insulated wire and a couple of but connectors or how ever you want to make your connection. Just don't use the paper clip.

Everything works good now. The link you sent me on page 9 shows a different approach to the problem so I gave that a try first and it worked great. I retouched both solder points shown on the picture and solved the problem. But thank you so much for giving me that link to solving the problem!!

I did a write-up on fixing this and it is essentially the same thing as you found with the broken solder posts. For me I'd rather fix it right than jump the circuit and not be able to control the child lock.

Lawyers, how about common sense? I don't have kids (yet) but when I do I don't want my ornery son or daughter rolling the window up, down, up, down, up, down all the time, nor do I want anything valuable flying out the window during an act of rebellion when the child is told to behave in the back seat.
