Default Power window question, 00 Cherokee.

I'm new on this site and I love my Cherokee. Anyway, lets get to the point.

My passenger side rear window will not go up and down and the switch on that door will not work either.

My passenger side front door, switch does not work for up and down.

On my driver side door, I can put the passenger front door window up and down no problem but my passenger side rear door will not go up and down.

Do I have a bad switch for the passenger front door and a bad motor on the passenger rear door? Is this common on Cherokees?

Cool windows

I would guess that either your driverswindow switch has a problem as it supplies power to the other switches, or you havea broken wire or two, usually in the drivers door opening in the rubber boot. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply, I did took the wiring out of the door panel today to fix my speaker wires. While I was looking around, I do not see any other split wires. Could the other doors have the same problem in the rubber boot area? If I use my main switch to put the window down on the passenger front door window, it goes up and down just fine. All windows work with my main switch but my rear passenger side door don't work.

not sure it is possible , mine had broken wires in both front doors, maybe you should pull the right rear and check power at the window motor.

So if I do that, my door locks will not work from my switch? My door locks works great.

I was thinking about pulling the motor out and test it with the battery and see.

No that means your window lock switch will not work.... the plug they are showing in the picture is the relay for your window lock.... they are faulty and the connections break over time, the point of the clip is to jump the circuit and bypass the switch. your door locks will not be affected at all

To be clear, I would have to manually lock the doors myself? If that the case, I would prolly want to track down and find the real problem.

Check the wires in the boot 'tween the body and doors. I had intermittent power window, door lock, and speaker problems in my 99 XJ Limited. Both front doors had broken and burnt wires behind the boot. Patched 'em up and all is well. I couldn't believe how many wires were broken in both door boots.

Any famous problem in the rear doors as well? I might as well check them all anyway.

I wouldn't go pulling the window motor out. Thats kind of a pain but go for it if you want. I was having a similar problem but none of the other switches would work just the driver's door would. I jumped the lockout button with a jumper and now for 2 years all the controls on every door (i have a 4 door) work not one problem. I send you a write up on how to do it.

I mean, if I do that paper clip trick, will my door lock switch still work? I can control all 3 windows expect the right rear door window does nothing.

Update again: I checked the wiring in the passenger side rear door, wiring is fine, no splits, I checked the motor itself, its fine too, I switch over the switch from the left door to the right, right switch works fine on the left door. Now I'm stumped.

I'm thinking could I have a bad switch on my driver side main switch?
