2001 cherokee xj sport.

I had a short in window wiring. Windows only worked when drivers door shut. Wires showing metal in drivers door jamb. I pulled door wiring harness and fixed wires. EVERY wire has continuity through harness. No crossed wires.

Hook it up and windows are Dead...... Little green lights are dead too. Power mirrors work.

Replaced window switch controller ..... Still dead .

Tested so far.....
Tan power supply wire has 12volts all the way to where it plugs into master window control box.

That is ONLY wire that is carrying 12 volts to the control box.

Black ground wire has continuity and grounds to vehicle. BUT shows its only carrying 5 volts ?????

When I plug to all together, green window switch lights are dead on ALL doors. Power Mirrors WORK fine.

Fuse #28 checks good. There is power to the window control box through the TAN wire, the box IS grounded, it should work.

What have I done wrong ????

Is there a hidden fuse ?
