Default Power Window Problem

Just yesterday my power window on my driver side started giving me issues.
When it all the way at the bottom or the top the motor (or track gears) clicks like crazy until i let go of the button. This is extremely problematic on the way down because of the "auto down" function, the window motor doesnt shut off when it reaches the bottom anymore. Im assuming that the "auto down" function shuts the motor off when a certain load on the motor is reached but since something is slipping the load never gets there.

Anybody got some ideas? or similar experience?

I hate to only say this, but I have the same issue with my rear passenger side window, but it does not have an auto down. I will be looking into it, but there are more important things to do. Like lift!

My jeep is doing the exact same thing on the drivers window. It grinds at the top and bottom when I roll down the window. Any help would be great.

Jesus, I get to answer 9 questions at once.

The problem is the window regulator...

It's made from cheap plastic and the side gear strips out and it slips...

Buy this:

This is the new version that won't break.

OR If you're a super cheap *** you could buy this...

Default slipping power window, like free fall

I just dug my jeep back from the mechanic and am tackling problems. The passanger window motor is fine and the window was like 1/2 inch down stuck there. I took the panel off and the guy I bought it from used wire through a hole he made in the panel to effectively stop it from free falling. I know nothing about my problem, so why is it able to free fall? What part is missing to get it to work again? I could just tighten his wire and nobody gets to use the window but that is kinda silly. Remember, motor sounds fine and is trying to work but it can't because of his little rigging to stop the assembly from falling into the base of the door.

I don't mean to steal the thread, but my regulators gone on my drivers side door. I got the panel off, but.....I can't get the lock and the door handle lever off? Do I have to drill out the rivets to pull the inside door handle off?
