The driver side window and overhead console started working half *** and now they dont work at all. i havent got the passenger window or cigarette lighter to work at all.. its a 91 2 door laredo. i have checked fuses cleaned switches with contact cleaner and checked drivers door jam for damaged wires.. any ideas before i drop it off at dealership and spend to much money?

 

You checked fuses for power on both sides with key on ?

 

there all getting power even the 30a circuit breakers under the dash with key on except the 5a "inst lps" dash lights? any ideas? i did take my switch apart a lot when it was half *** working so im wondering if i got a short. and what do you mean both sides? is there more under passenger side hiding?

 

alright well i have been tracking down the problem all morning and found that the driver door window just needed to be cleaned and the passenger door had a short in the light blue wire from the switch to motor and now i just gotta rewire it.. the overhead console and cigarette lighter are next on the list

 

By both sides i mean power in and out of each fuse .

 

As for the 5a fuse that dont get power until lights are on .

 

By overhead console you mean dome light or long console ?

 

i mean the temp sensor and the compass but they have seem to be working fine over the past couple days.... i tested the cigarette lighter and no power was going through to the purple/white wire but the light for it works.. and yes i did test both sides of the fuses. my main concern was the windows though and they have been working great until it starts to get cold at night.
