power window malfunction

power window malfunction

When I try to roll down the passenger side window it clicks and doesn't move. I looked at the battery gauge and when i press the button it drops drastically... Any ideas of what the problem is?

Possibilities:
1. high resistance in a connection
2. a nearly-broken wire
3. the mechanism is binding somehow (rusty, dirty, etc)
4. the motor is bad

If its only that window, where is a good place to start looking?

What I've done in the past is to disconnect the motor, set a spare battery near it, and run a couple of wires to the motor. If it works, then look at items 1 & 2 on my list. If not, look at 3 & 4.
