So my power steering pump went out on me. I plan on changing the hoses because the fittings are pretty rusted, the tension pulley, and the belt...anything else i should know before i go into it
If you do a search, im sure there will be a write-up on this. It's not difficult.
Make sure to do a proper system flush to get out any "material" from the old pump.

My son and I replaced it on my `96 XJ. Went out a couple days after we got the Jeep. Easy job. Been working perfect since. I understand it`s a common problem.

While you have it apart may as well upgrade it. A WJ pump with a V8 is a good swap. It has a tiny hydraulic fan. It also pumps more gpm & has more line pressure. If you Jeep is a '00 it's a direct bolt on.
