Default Power Steering Pulley

So i rented a tool to put take the pulley off cause the tool i had that came with pump put pulley on crooked. So i rented tool to remove/install pulley. Well its not going on how they said it should.

Called the store and the guy who rented to me wasn't there. And the people who were there didn't know how the tool works or if it was missing any items because it was the only tool.

I'm at a loss here at how to do this. I've googled and watch a couple videos and did how they showed and still no go.

Its metal, and i'd rather not hammer it on as i don't want to damage the pump, since it did cost me like 50 bucks.

it should be lawls. why can't they make it so easy. the tool fits on and when i go to press on the pulley with the tool i rented from oreilly. that p/s shaft spins with the pulley and unscrews the stud you screw into the shaft slot.

Wasn't going to suggest using a hammer! Take a rat tail file and lightly file the the edge of the pulley that goes on towards the pump. Don't file the inside portion of it, just the leading edge that makes first contact with the shaft.
