Btw: get the whole hose, metal pressure fittings included. You shouldn't need anything other than a wrench to loosen it up. Maybe a little muscle

if you cant get the fitting loose, cut the hose and put a socket on the nut

All great information guys. Picked up the hose last night, going to borrow the tool wrench from a buddy. Looked at my coolant reservoir, it's dirty, so I guess I'll pull the radiator hose while I'm doing the PS pump. I was not aware the hose came with the crimped ends and metal lines already. Guess thats why I was confused. Seems cheap, $18.00 for this part, has a lifetime warranty. What is PB? Also, the airbox is gone, I put and intake cone so....do I need to start the engine to get the air to burp out of the top of the reservoir and turn the wheel back and forth?

pb blaster. Its a rust penatrant. helps break away the rust and buld up on the threads. It works really well. (like wd40 and other rust penatrants)

not a must but if you have somthing liek ti laying around it should help.

Dont worry about bleeding it man. Just use an 18mm wrench for the top part of the hose and a 19 mm for the bottom..pull it out..it will pour out a bit from the gear box and the pump but not much...mine had leaked so much it was already empty, just be careful about cross threading and stripping the threads on the pump and box. Be ready to loose about 3 gallons of coolant from that lower rad hose. And have fun

Good luck man, I am relieved I got mine done. I was getting tired of dumping a bottle of fluid in every week, and my local mecanic made it out to be one hell of a job. Its prolly one of the easiest things Ive done so far. Be careful and dont do what I did and pinch the lower rad hose between the return and pressure line...then my hose exploded. Which turned into another project.

thanks for the advice, I am going to pull the rad hose and drain anyway. Maybe tonight, still have a good bit of firewood to split this evening.

I just this EXACT same thing to my '89. Picked up the new hose for $20. Came ready to pop right in, no special tool required. Took me 20 min easiest repair I've done, haha

Negative ghost rider! That's WAY to high of pressure for that type of connection. OP, you need a new high pressure hose. NAPA will assemble you one if you want some fancy stainless

Once you get the new hose on don't tighten the fittings until they are both started, then you can snug them down tight. Make sure not to cross thread the fittings too.

Got the new hose in. Whoever suggested cutting the metal hose and using a socket to get the flare nut loose deserves some recognition. I thought I wasn't going to be able to get the one end loose, till I remembered the socket idea. Worked like a champ and was able to drain the coolant and install the hose before the concert. Thanks guys. Brakes are next so I'm sure I'll have more questions.
