Power steering high side double nut
I was replacing my power steering lines on my xj (engines a 2000) when I noticed that the high side went into another nut(22mm) which then went into the pump. The thread seemed the same as what is on the hp line, but it didn't have the same flare on it. I have done this on xjs a few times before and never noticed it. I was wondering if anyone knew the point or reason for it. My guess is to get a better seal.

I put a new pump on my wife's Caravan and I actually read the instructions! Imagine that! It said "Be sure to remove your old pressure regulator for use on the new pump before returning the core. We will not be able to return it to you." Those were a beyotch because they were mounted underneath the engine and salt would eat holes in the tank. It had an upper and lower reservoir connected with a hose. I had to buy a 16mm tubing wrench just for that pressure hose!

Yup. Pressure hose screwed into the regulator on the pump's output. This was a 96 Caravan anyway. I was really happy the day we sold that piece of crap. That one had the Mitsubishi V6 in it and I had to disassemble the whole front of the timing section to replace the water pump!

Thanks for info. I had a '99 got it cheap and drove it to the ground, and sent it off for scarp. It was barely together when I bought it.

With ours, the driver's side sliding door lower track rotted out and it was very difficult to close it if someone opened it so I removed the door handle actuator rods, locked it, and slammed it shut! My wife was pissed it wouldn't work after that. I replaced the fuel pump, tank filler pipe, A/C compressor, then the passenger's side door started the same crap. I sold it to a guy who wanted it for his daughter to go to college with. Good luck buddy! Down the road.

Mine was the other way. My buddy had a bunch for parts and build 2 to sale. The carp one he gave me a deal on it. Had no speedo wrong trany, holes like Swiss cheese and someone backed into it and broke the number. but I needed a vehicle at the time. Think it lasted a year and half or so.
