Agreed...
Any reason you are looking to the RC setup? I would suggest you check out Serious Offroad. I am running his long arms and can't say enough good about them.

Serious is also great because of his knowledge and activity on the forum.

If you plan on doing long arms, do your research into EVERYTHING before just buying parts.

I'm not partial to any brand at all actually. The RC caught my eye because of the lucrative price. However, the more I read the more it sounds like the RC is not my best bet and instead I might be better of shelling out the extra money for an RE long arm kit (if I go with a kit that is).

I haven't seen the Serious OffRoad kit but I'll go check it out now!

MAN OH MAN!!! I'm glad you guys told me about the Serious OffRoad kit!

http://www.seriousoffroadproducts.co...Path=419_2040&

That looks to be by far an AWESOME lift kit to say the least. As soon as I saw this and read everything that was included I just couldn't stop drooling. It comes with a SYE and the Bilstein shocks which I had planned on buying separately anyways.

It's a bit of money but the same price as the RE kit I was looking at so this seems like a no brainer. Of course now I want to wait it out and see if maybe they eventually have a sale / promo going on for those lifts. Might be nice to save a bit of money if I could.

Just laughed at your response. Hahah, good to see you have your eye in the right place. Just for more options, check out TnT, Clayton, Rock Krawler, or some others. You could also look into doing a 4 (or 3) link.

I'll check those guys out as well.

I need to evaluate what I'm trying to do here. At one point I was happy with the 31" tires and thought that my short arm RE lift was going to cut it (good thing it came with that lift when I bought it). Now I am sitting here thinking that I need 33" tires and a long arm lift because eventually that's what I'll end up wanting anyways.

I guess it makes more sense to go big and do it all at once right from the get go instead of continuously upgrading and wasting money.

Also, from what I've been reading it sounds like the long arm kits offer a lot better handling on-road and off-road which would be nice.

My Jeep doesn't haven't horribly but it definitely could be a bit better in my opinion.

It took me about a year and a half to get really sick of my worn out 3.5" short arm lift

The good thing is I didn't pay for mine, it came on the car! I would be pretty grumpy if I had bought the lift brand new and then a year later decided to get a long arm lift. That's why I figure if I am going to put money into a lift I might as well go all out from the get go. Okay, maybe it's not 'all out' but I think a nice long arm lift kit will be all I need for what I want to do.

I don't know for certain it's an RE short arm lift but the shocks are all RE shocks and it definitely has aftermarket upper and lower control arms in the front. I measured the lift as well and it is 4.5" so I'm thinking it must be an RE 4.5" short arm lift.

I just want something that will ride a bit better and perform better as well. I know a short arm lift will have it's limits in the long run.

If your lift is still in decent shape you could throw it on Craigslist and maybe make a couple hundred bucks back after all is said and done
