Any reason you are looking to the RC setup? I would suggest you check out Serious Offroad. I am running his long arms and can't say enough good about them.

If you plan on doing long arms, do your research into EVERYTHING before just buying parts.

MAN OH MAN!!! I'm glad you guys told me about the Serious OffRoad kit!

That looks to be by far an AWESOME lift kit to say the least. As soon as I saw this and read everything that was included I just couldn't stop drooling. It comes with a SYE and the Bilstein shocks which I had planned on buying separately anyways.
It's a bit of money but the same price as the RE kit I was looking at so this seems like a no brainer. Of course now I want to wait it out and see if maybe they eventually have a sale / promo going on for those lifts. Might be nice to save a bit of money if I could.

I need to evaluate what I'm trying to do here. At one point I was happy with the 31" tires and thought that my short arm RE lift was going to cut it (good thing it came with that lift when I bought it). Now I am sitting here thinking that I need 33" tires and a long arm lift because eventually that's what I'll end up wanting anyways.
I guess it makes more sense to go big and do it all at once right from the get go instead of continuously upgrading and wasting money.
Also, from what I've been reading it sounds like the long arm kits offer a lot better handling on-road and off-road which would be nice.
My Jeep doesn't haven't horribly but it definitely could be a bit better in my opinion.

I don't know for certain it's an RE short arm lift but the shocks are all RE shocks and it definitely has aftermarket upper and lower control arms in the front. I measured the lift as well and it is 4.5" so I'm thinking it must be an RE 4.5" short arm lift.
I just want something that will ride a bit better and perform better as well. I know a short arm lift will have it's limits in the long run.

The good thing is I didn't pay for mine, it came on the car! I would be pretty grumpy if I had bought the lift brand new and then a year later decided to get a long arm lift. That's why I figure if I am going to put money into a lift I might as well go all out from the get go. Okay, maybe it's not 'all out' but I think a nice long arm lift kit will be all I need for what I want to do.
