power seat
drivers power seat started twisting when I try to move forward or backwards.
pulled the seat from the base so I could see better.
pulled the motor and shafts from the tracks. both shafts turn when activated.
inside track works fine, outside track worm gear doesn't move causing the seat to bind.
I was going to get drift and remove the press pin holding in the worm gear assembly just to poke around. I noticed the inside assembly has a metal where it attaches to the seat track whereas the outside is nylon. I assume the nylon would wear at a higher rate.
Is there a fix for this other than replacing the whole thing and can a worm gear assembly with the metal be used to possibly replace the one on the outside? or are the threads reversed?
Thanks in advance.
