Default Power Door Locks acting wierd

Today, I noticed that my power locks are doing something funny. When your press the button to lock or unlock, all you get is a small click sound on the passenger side of the vehicle. The lock actuators do not do anything. To further test what could be going wrong, I went to the passenger side door switch and tried to lock and unlock the doors, but the same symptoms exist, except for on the passenger side you can feel a slight tick on the plastic around the switch when you try to lock or unlock the doors. This one puzzles me, anyone have any thoughts as to why all of the sudden my door locks stop working or why I am feeling a tick when I use the passenger side switch to try and make the doors lock?

Default still searching..

I am not sure yet, but I am thinking it might be some broken wires inside the door on one side or the other, but i have not checked into it yet.

could be. in my situation it unlocks sometimes but other times it doesn't. it always will lock though. i was wondering if it could be the breaker. in my jeep it has a breaker instead of a fuse. i got a 89 Cherokee laredo

I had the same thing on an 01 cherokee when it was still under warrenty and the dealer ended up putting new switch modules in both doors, but it ended up being a short in the wiring harness between the body and the door on the driver side. They ended up replacing the whole wiring harness. That was in 03 and I havent had a proublem with it since.

I just started having the same issue and was about to put up a thread on it. Haven't narrowed it down yet but I'm pretty confident that it's the wiring itself. The opening/closing of the door crimps and eventually breaks the wiring running from the body over time so that's where I'm starting.
