How difficult/involved is it to remove the old, non-functional power antenna assembly from my 90 XJ? My radio reception is fine but, the antenna mast is bent and the motor is dead.
I bought a basic antenna setup with a base that will match up to the fender, came with the cable already attached and has a screw on mast which I will most likely replace with a shorty.

I found this write-up on another Jeep forum.
1. Remove fender flare by undoing the nuts on the studs inside the fender well.
2. Remove the plastic splash shield behind the right front wheel.
3. Remove the bolts that attach the bottom of the fender to the body cowl.
4. Remove the one bolt attaching the fender that's located between the two door hinges, and is visible with the door fully open.
5. Remove the kick panel on the passenger's footwell.
6. Disconnect the antenna power connector and the antenna coaxial connector inside the passenger's compartment.
7. From inside the passenger's compartmetn, "pop" the grommet for the antenna cables out of the body cowl, and push the cables through to the outside of the body.
8. Undo the decorative nut (that has four small indentations in it) on the antenna base on the edge of the fender.
9. Pull the lower portion of the fender away from the body to gain clearance. Undo the one screw that attaches the power antenna motor to the body. Remove the power antenna assembly.
10. Reassemble in reverse order.

I guess I've been lucky. So far, none of the bolts/nuts/etc. I've taken off have been rusted, just caked with dirt/mud and came out without too much effort.
