Possibly buying my First Cherokee, Few Questions
Hey guys, i'm brand new to this forum and i'm looking to buy a 92 Cherokee off craigslist. Seller is asking $3500 and it only has 102k original miles. He sent me a picture of all the repairs that he has done to it but it also worries me a bit that this many repairs were done to it in only a two year span. I know their are normal replacement items on that list like oil changes, tires, and battery but the other things are what concern me. It's completely stock and has a leather interior. I'll put the picture of the repair list he sent me.
Are these common things that go wrong on XJ's? Like i said i'm completely new to Jeeps and this will be my first one if i purchase it. I haven't looked at it in person yet as its a bit far from me but hopefully in the next day or so i can take a look. Sorry for the blurry picture, the guy sent me the pic so i didn't take it. Any comments would be appreciated, thanks.

There is no rack and pinion steering on an xj. That's just something somebody typed up. Unless you know the person very well, or have receipts, trust no one. Pictures of parts can be googled too...

I would not say that those are "normal" to replace. I will say though that iv only had my jeep for a year, and when I bought it, it had 130 thousand on it, and I had new front shocks, brakes, and steering stabilizer.
Here's my unprofessional opinion:
That shop was taking him for a ride. They told him those parts needed replaced, and he didn't know enough to say no. I assuming of course.
Another way to look at it is your getting a Cherokee with 102 thousand miles, with new parts, for 3500.

Shows how little i know as far as XJ's not having a rack and pinion. Yeah i can tell the list was typed up by someone. I trust no one, especially through craigslist, its a scammers heaven.
That screams fake. I would go and check out the condition of the vehicle but take all of that for a grain of salt. There no way that is real with the rack and pinion tid bit.
Its probably still worth the trip out there though. Thats a low mileage one at a decent price. Just go over the normal items and give the jeep a good twice over.

He forgot to add to that list the blinker fluid conversion kit so you don't need to add blinker fluid. Those are common to leak. Also the flux capacitor goes out often. So I'm surprised he didn't write that on there.
