I have had the jeep for awhile..and it has been somewhat reliable.

Previous issues, was a faulty PCM and a coil pack replacement.(BWD Ignition Coil
) maybe 15-18 months ago. Other then that..it has always started.

Recently it takes, 2 tries to start the jeep, specially in the mornings. It has a brand new Battery, (Platinum-AGM) The engine cranks hard, but it just does not start..It will start on the second try so far. Any ideas on what it could be? or suggest for me to check?

don't want to be stranded somewhere ...I did not renew my AAA service this year, but I am thinking I should give them a call today.. just worried of having issues.

 

Try turning key to on let fuel pump prime for a few seconds before cranking.

 

Your fuel pump and/or check valve is reaching its end of life. Try this: cycle the key a couple of time to the on position before starting the engine. If it starts then your check valve is just about done.

 

I'm on an mobile divide, can't really search. But is the check valve inside the fuel tank? easy to swap out?

how much is this part? I may pick one up and replace it over the weekend. I'm big on preventative maintenance. The Jeep currently has 159K Thx
