Possible leak location
I bought another Cherokee recently and I noticed that there appeared to be condensation on the carpet in the drivers side floorboard. I ripped up the carpet yesterday and sure enough the drivers side floor pan is in bad shape. The water had been coming thru the drivers side firewall somewhere, I think, and been running back to the drivers side rest passenger floor pan. I'll repair both spots and put new carpet in because the old one smells horrible.
I took the jeep in today for some body repair estimates. I don't like the prices I'm getting but out of curiousity the repair guy said that they had fixed another one recently and it was suffering from the same issue. The water was coming in from the firewall. He said it was a common problem. I'll probably do the floor pan repair myself but in the meantime does anyone know the possible location of the leak into the cab?

I've never had water on the floor of mine and the hood is raised in the rear. You may have a rust issue under the windshield rubber in that area.

I myself never had the problem. But many on here have said that the leak is either from around the windshield or coming from the cowling. The drains are plugged and not draining causing rust which in turn causes the water to enter the cab. This should give you some ideas on where to look.

Your best bet is to spend a couple of bucks more and take it to a glass shop and have them fix it. That is if it is leaking from there. That way if it does start leaking again they will fix it if they give you any kind of warranty and many will. Plus it can be a real pain in the a$$ to remove and replace the glass and not have it leak.

OK, so I took the fender off today and while I was there I fixed the leaking o ring seal around my washer fluid resovior. Anyway, I am pretty certain the issue is coming from my windshield and not my air dam/firewall. There are parts that the seal around the windshiled that are not close to the windshield and I'm not seeing ANY water stains in the firewall area in the cab. I've siliconed the area in question. I'm going to have the windshield replaced as well as the seal.
