Possible Brake Problem NEED HELP.
I drive my jeep down the road and when i need to stop i push the brake in to slow down. There comes a fealing of the brake pedal trying to kick back, you can feal through the pedal the vibration or jumping of the brakes. Its not a steady slow down its jumpy slow down from the brakes. What can cause that problem, and what can be done to fix it?

Does the steering wheel shake too?
if only the pedal pulsates and the steering wheel doesnt shake then it would most likely be the rear drums.

The front rotors get hot and warp. They can be turned if they're not worn down too thin. If so they need to be replaced. They can be turned at any repair shop, or at some auto supply stores. They're not very expensive if they need to be replaced. Just part of routine maintenance.
The pedal pulsates because of the uneven thickness of the rotor passing between the brake-pads in the caliper, causing them to "kick-back" the brake fluid pressure through the master cylinder, and you feel it against the pedal.

You can do it yourself. Get yourself a repair manual, a floor-jack, some jack-stands, and a set of tools for a lot less than $700.00, then you can maintain your Jeep yourself. And have pride instead of empty pockets.
The rotors should be less than $40.00 each at the auto parts store, if needed.

No. The stock replacement rotors are fine. Get new front brake pads while you're doing it if yours look thin. The manual only costs about $15.00, and will pay for itself quick, believe me.
Usually you will go through 2 sets of front brakes before you go through 1 set of rear brakes.

Look at this.>>->http://www.jeephorizons.com/tech/brake_front.html
Note:The difference between the old and new brake pads in the pics, and the calipers aren't replaced unless they are defective. That was the only decent pics I could find to compare.
