Not to hijack but....Mine does the same thing except it's been narrowed down to the steering linkage where it exits the fire wall and goes down to the gear box. Anyone have tips on replacing?

In order to find out what was "popping" on mine, i had someone start-up my XJ and turn the Steering Wheel back and forth to make it "pop", while i got under there and listened.

It only took just a few seconds to "see" what it was.

Replaced the Track Bar and my Cherokee is good as new!!!

Already done all of that, on mine it's where the linkage exits the firewall and goes to the steering box. That top u - joint in the linkage is what's popping. How do I go about replacing that linkage?

I really don't know about this one.

To get the answers your looking for, try a Thread Search or just start a new thread, specific to your problem.

It's alright. It's just I'm fairly mechanically inclined so when I have a problem I go through all of the "baby steps" if you will. But I already checked trac bar mount and that's fine. I tried searching, but figured since this was a similar thread I just might get the answers here.
