popping on start

Default popping on start

I have a 95 cherokee sport 5 speed. today it has been having trouble starting and i noticed while leaving work as it started i heard a pop. I have heard a couple times today but never before today. im not sure where the sound is coming from or whats causing it. any help to point me in the right direction would be appreciated

Backfiring usually comes from either the intake manifold or the exhaust.

When it comes from the intake, that can indicate a "lean mixture". In which case you would want to test everything that can contribute to that including fuel pressure, map sensor, coolant sensor, etc.

ill try to check that out this weekend. seems like fuel could cause the hard start to so seems like a good place to start
