Default popping sound

Hey guys, for some reason after my lift install I have a popping sound from the rear... I thought it was my shocks bottoming out by I took them off and its still there... after further investigation, it sounds like its coming from inside my rotors... could my axle shafts be popping for some reasom?? If I rock the jeep back and forth pretty hard it pops...

also, just wondering if the rubber plug on the back of the housing is the check/fill plug...

thanks

my rear shoes made some weird noises after in lifted mine but went away after 200 miles. the pop noise you hear when your rocking it is probably the axles knocking against the C clips inside the rearend maybe.

yes the rubber plug is the level check plug.

When my dad lifted his he had a problem with a "popping" sound when he flexed a certain way and randomly when driving. It sounded pretty bad from inside the vehicle but it turned out that it was just the exhaust hitting and catching on the leaf. Might want to rule that out before doing any major work.

how's it going guys. just so you know, there is was a recall back in the day for Cherokee's that involved popping noises during brake applications. it has something to do with the axles slapping against the c cl. when rear shoes are applied. I don't really know the details, but i'm sure if you look it up you can find more info. I don't know if that is relevant since you all have modified the susp. but i thought i'd let you know any way.
