Default Popping sound...

Hey y'all! I got a weird popping sound coming from the right front only when I hit a pump. You can feel it though the floor board. But, when I push down on the right front trying to "re-create" it, I can't. Any suggestions?

It doesn't sound like that. But, maybe it is, gonna shake the seat after school and see what's up. Any other thoughts

trac bar bolt might be loose, check that. Well, just check your whole steering while you're at it. If you have coil spacers it might be them shifting as well

Check the bushings on the front upper and lower control arms. I had the same sound. You can't recreate it by pushing down because the worn bushing only allows the control arm to flex when it is in a torque condiction. Side to side tension is necessary to recreate the sound. To replace all is a heck of a job or a check for $650.00 or so.

I'd agree that there are a few different things that could be contributing- the track bar is always suspect. But like I said it could be there are bad bushings, joints, etc. that are contributing as well. The clunk sounds like it may be an issue with wheel joints and/or tre's.. IMHO.. An alignment, balance and rotation could all in order, too. Are your tires and rims in good shape? Is tire wear even? Where does steering wheel sit when driving; straight at 12:00 or off a bit? Other than clunk, is there wobble or shake when hitting bump? What about at speed- like at 50, 60, 70? Also what size tire/lift ya got?

Get a lift under the front end and take SOME of the pressure off tires. Get a buddy to turn wheel back and forth between 10:00 and 2:00 position while you look underneath at different steering components for play or looseness.

Get a front wheel off the ground, grab it top and bottom and push/pull back and forth (camber-wise) and see if it has play in it. If you have a full lift, bring it up all the way and grab the wheel joint and rock the wheel back and forth a bit. You will know if it's bad right away..
