popping out of 4wd under load

Default popping out of 4wd under load

hello, my 1990 jeep cherokee keeps popping out of 4wd hi and low when i need to get on it sand, up hill, lo crawl up sandstone etc, it does fine but as soon as i have to give it a little more it makes a horrible popping grinding sound and pops out of 4wd

Possibly, and the procedure is shown in the link below. But,, worn engine mounts and/or trans mount can also be the cause. Check them out first.
