popping noise under front left when turning

popping noise under front left when turning
When I turn my wheel on my 1996 4x4 Manuel Charokee there is a sometimes loud sometimes quiet popping noise under the left hand side. Speaking to a handy friend we believe it to be the front panhard bar or the jeep equal to that. Not sure, anyways if anyone has any insight let me know. I would like to fix it myself.

Never heard of a panhard bar... But a VERY likely cause of that is the track bar. Have your buddy get in a turn the wheel back and forth and when it pops, take a look at the track bar on the frame side.
