I bought my '94 XJ new, and it makes the same sound when steering wheel turned fully....been doing that since new and I have ignored it for 32 years and 275,000 miles, and typically don't turn the steering wheel to where it won't turn any more. I've always loved how tight the turn radius is on the XJ, can turn around on a dime. But, figure that noise is part of that tight turn radius.
