I have a 1987 Jeep cherokee with a 2.5 liter 4 cyl. It has a poor running problem when it gets warm, I thought it might be a fuel problem but now think it might be a ecm problem. Here is the scenario; I had to loan the jeep to my daughter because some idiot pulled in front of her and she totaled her 03 camry and needed a vehicle temporarly, well she complains of it runnig good on the way to work in the morning but it sputters on the way home from work in the evening when it is alittle warmer, "where talking Sacramento, ca, where it gets 95 in the evening". I have checked this jeep out when i had it and noted it did not have a "normal plug in to check the computer" like GM or ford, but I have read it does not have a capacity to store trouble codes or check the computer. It is a fuel injection jeep with a throttle body, so how do you check out this system? It has some electric plugs under the hood next to the coil, but if you cant check codes or the computer what good are the plugs. So any help would be much appreciated.
