Upon start up and shut down i sometimes hear some gurgling coming from the rear of my 97' XJ. I sounds like liquid is moving through some pipes or hoses. My skid plate protecting my fuel tank is not dented. Does anyone have this same problem? Does anyone know if the stock fuel tank is a baffled fuel cell?

 

When my gas tank is full I have the gurgling noise after engine is shut off once a little gas is used up no more noise there is service bulletin on this problem

 

could you point me in the direction of that tsb please

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
A rattling, knocking or gurgling noise may be present coming from inside the fuel tank. The noise can usually be heard with the tank between 3/4 and full. The noise may be the anti-siphon check ball moving in the filler neck.

 

thanks im gonna check on that. i can hear that sound past even half tank though but i will look into that.
