Default Hello All, Newbie Here

Hello everyone.

I'm totally new to the Jeep side of the world. I've always owned Ford, mainly Mustang GT's.

I just purchased a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport. So far it's wonderful. Does have what appears to be some sort of front end issue. I'm not complaining to much I only paid $2700 for it.

Any ideas on the front end? You can push the front tire and hear a "clanking" noise. On the road it seems to pull to the right. Every so often it'll virbrate through the steering wheel.

I don't know if this is a common problem with the 2000's and is easily remedied or should be handled by a trusted mechanic.

Forgive me for not knowing much the details about my Jeep. Hopefully I'll learn them along the way.

I can't wait to get a lift and much meatier tires on it.

Thanks for taking the time to read and respond with any ideas.

Welcome to CF from Dan in Tenn.!
Yeah, check those ball joints, and tie rod ends. Oh, and give those hub bearings a look while you're checking the ball joints.

Thanks on the welcomes and the ideas.I'll take it to my local mechanic on Monday. I'm not familiar with ball joints (never had a chance to work on them). It does tend to vibrate pretty good when it does. Am I safe to drive it for a few days or should I get them looked at ASAP?Thanks again.

pushin it off is only gonna make the problem worse, and in turn cost more to fix.
