Default plug on rear of transfer case?

Hi everybody, just wondering about the plug on the back of the transfer case on a 1999 cherokee sport 4.0 auto>? Does that tell the dash when it is put into 4 wheel drive or is that the speed sensor?? Looked around different sites can not seem to find it? It looks like it goes from the transfer case right into the harness on the pass. side and possiably a 2 wire not sure did not want to take it apart . Thanks.. 7

The big plug in black is the speedo, there is a plug on the end of mode fork on the housing of the transfer case and then on the other half of the case is the sensor for 4wd lights
