Question: what do I need to buy with the speakers? Freedgr, good job listening to my budget! We are in the middle of a winter storm. So all I can do is play in the snow and make a sleigh! I am ordering the speakers online after this post. I will holler back when they arrive. Thanks for everything fellas!

What kind are you going with
And those cheap ones that were posted, are 3 ways and would require, running wires for the external tweeters

Idk exactly what they need. Mine simply put the harness on the speaker, and they plug into the original. The advisor on Crutchfield made my cart for me, everything was free except the speakers.

Ill post a pic of the harness I have. Did you go with 6 1/2s or stay with 5.25

My speakers came with everything needed to install.

I had them within 5 minutes of walking into the store. Not 5 days.

And I got points toward a coupon for my next purchase.

And if they ended up being defective, I wouldn't have to go through the rigmarole of getting an RMA and shipping back, only to wait another 10-14 days at minimum for a replacement.

Haha you must of never orderef from cf, I got a defective deck, they sent a new one before I sent mine back. I also got points for a next purchase. Sure I had to wait, but I know I got from a more reputable dealer in the audio world with wayyyy better customer service. Wouldve had them in 2 days for free but ordered near the weekend

I ordered the 5.25" in the link from post #83. I read the reviews on the Kickers and I heard they're great for bass heads but above my budget. I will get the speakers on Tuesday. Can't go far in this snow storm anyway.

If speaker clips are different sizes you have the knowledge to connect new speaker connectors to old wires. Nothing a little ingenuity cant fix

A 5.25" speaker doesn't exactly project that much sound.

But isn't it funny how I predicted a bad unit even before you admitted to us you got a bad one from them?

Yeah. Fine. My kickers have amazing hi's and awesome mids, some pretty good bass too.
This is all I needed to hook up my speakers, the speakers themselves came with wire and wire crimps to do it that way but CF sent these to make it easier.

Ok, thanks fellas and I agree with Freedgr, don't have to hear the tunes down the street to get a crisp sound but I know none of you do that anyway .
