Please help. Over heating i have tried everything.
Hi everyone thank for looking at my thread. Please post any opinion you have besides " get a wrangler ". That one got old quick.
First i tell you about my jeep. Its a 1991 cherokee high output 4.0. I have 35's on it with stock gearing. And yes. My gas pedal does get smashed to the floor a lot. Im just making sure its still running good.
When it over heats it over heats on the freeway and around town. With or without the a/c on. But it definitely overheats faster with a/c on. On the freeway it gets up to 230 within 10 miles or so. And around town it gets 230 too. I have not noticed it ever boiling over yet.. But i guarantee it has been close.
Im gonna install a mechanical gauge once i get the adapter for it. " i cant find any other place to put it" but it is definitely over heating, its not my gauge giving me too false of a reading.
Ill tell you everything i have done to my jeep to try to fix my over heating problem.
1. Thermostat "195"
2. Water pump
3. Brand new all aluminum radiator from FF dynamics. " 2 row "
4. 3 electric cooling fans from FF dynamics. I have a switch to them and turn them on right at start-up.
5. New head gasket
6. Got head pressure tested and fluxed or something..
7. Brand new upper and lower radiator hoses.
8. Brand new radiator cap.
9. Full of coolant. Made sure by parking on a hill so the back of my engine was highest point, and took temp sender for dash out and i could see coolant.
10. Checked my timing and it was about 16, but i believe it is controlled by the computer.
12. I got a brand new condenser, so none of the find on it are pushed over or buggerd up.
11. Just did a tune-up on it. " needed one anyway. "
12. " just took it mudding thought that might work. "
Im just completely stumped. Ive done everything i can think of. Besides hood louvers. And I'm really just getting sick of having to turn the a/c off all the time. And dying in this 110 heat. If there is anything you guys and gals can think of i would be more than happy to hear it. Thanks again! If you have ANY questions don't be afraid to ask. Thanks again. I greatly appreciate it.
