changed and still same prob. wont even clear sometimes, and sometimes when clears if i turn key to run without starting comes back? my wires are brwn/yel,orange,orange/blue. do all three run back to ecm? what is eacs wire? i am trying to test for shorts from ecm to tps. thanks

ahhh... sorry. 99 jeep cherokee with 4.0 ok if i traced these wires right..... my brwn/yel is ground(in book shows going to tran module, but for tps test says to pobe ground) orange is 5v coming from ecm, and orange/blue is my .5v-4v going back to computer. where i am at now is i do get 5v between brwn/yell and orange at tpsand i am getting the variable voltage between the brwn/yell at tps and the orange/blue right at ecm. so does that mean ecm shot? and what do you do about vin if using a junkyard computer? thanks

viewing posts seen a grang cherokee having same prob and tech said look behind valve cover, that a bolt sticks up cutting harness. for me that wasnt prob but did lead me to notice very back edge of fuel rail cut into harness.as soon as moved away code cleared and stayed off. now runs great.so if you are experiencing same thing.....if you go to clear code and just flashes off for 1 sec and lights back up i would say you have a constant short to ground like me. good luck. im not ready to give up my 250000 mile jeep yet.
