Hello, I have just bought a jeep cherokee from an Army buddy of mine!! Its a 1996 manuel! It has a bad problem..It shakes and bucks when starting out in first , and second gear somtimes third if i shift to early into third but problem goes away in first and second gear once the rpms get above 3,000..... My buddy Drove it from Iowa to GA with 3 broken motor mounts.. He did have them replaced.... It also has a hard time getting into reverse...
I am going to change all of the fluids in the transmisson and diffs but i know thats probally not the problem.

I dont have a manual shift, so maybe someone else can chime in. But would a faulty TPS cause this?

Moose, is it throwing any codes?

 

there is a check engine light on but havent hooked up yet to the computer
