Pitman arm puller

Is a pitman arm puller the only way to get a pitman arm off? I went to the local pull a part to get a zj pitman arm but couldnt get the damn thing off. I tried a socket wrench, pipe wrench, and a monkey wrench.

You can cut it off...The pitman arm is a pain to get off so yeah you will need the puller.
