Pitman Arm Install Without Special Tools?
I just changed all the bushings in the linkage, steering gearbox and pump/lines.
I used this to get the pitman arm nut off:
*that's a pipe wrench in the end of that pipe, bad angle, sry
But, I can't seem to use it to get the darn thing back on without seriously chewing up the nut.
You can see in this pic that the pitman arm is not quite seated. It's about halfway. Yes, I checked and the splines are all lined up just right. It's just stuck about halfway on.
AND, I tried to get the nut off to maybe hammer on it a bit and it appears to be pretty well stuck ON now. Yes, it's threaded properly.
*not sure why this image got reduced so much sending from phone. sry
It's stuck. I'm stuck. Any ideas? Thanks.

Thanks. I actually did that with the linkage before I took it apart, just not the pitman arm where it goes onto the gearbox.
I suppose I'm old and I forget the pics are digital sometimes. From now on I'll snap a pic of anything before I take it apart. Lesson learned. thanks!
