Default Pinion Seal on Rear Diff Required?

I bought a new pinion yoke (http://www.4wd.com/Jeep-Drivetrain-J...ions_Container) and it did not come with the circuler seal that was on the one i was replacing. On the website there was another option that had the seal (http://www.4wd.com/Jeep-Drivetrain-J...pn=CRO53007787), i already bought and installed the one without the seal and the seal that was on the old pinion yoke did not fit the new one. After i installed it no oil leaked from it. Do i need to that seal?

There are two styles of pinion yolks. The older style had that brass colored ring around it. Think of it more as a dust shield rather than a seal. I believe the cutover was between 1996-1997.

Right. That is a dust shield. Don't worry too much about it. My question is, what rear is it? 8.25 has a crush sleeve so you have to be careful replacing the yoke.

The links the OP listed were for 8.25 yolks.

Hopefully rolling torque was measured and the new yolk was put back and tightened so the same rolling torque was achieved.

Is that 100% necessary? This is kinda a budget build, I only paid $700 for the car and I'm only 17 years old, so my funds are very limited.

We're talking about a 20$ crush sleeve if memory serves me right. Do it right, or you'll be finding a new ring and pinion
