pinion bearing replacement
Hey I have a 91 cherokee witha D35c. I know the pinion bearing is shot but I was wondering if I could change it without having to take apart the rearend. I dont have the tools, money, or confidence to set up a rearend on my daily driver. At least not yet. Your help is greatly appreciated. thanks

Pinion bearings can be noisy, but generally not catastrophic. Keep some good lube in them. If you are concerned, you can probably get a whole rear end for less than hiring someone to do the work. Also, you could upgrade while you are at it if you have a D35.

I was thinkin of throwing in an 29 spline 8 1/4. but i need one with 307s unless i can find a matching hpd30, 8 1/4 with 355s out of an auto for cheap enough. I only really have the money for either the axle or to go wheelin so I dont know. I might just beat the $hit out of it until i got the money for new axles.
