Default pinion angle (lift)

My son and I want to lift our cherokee. It is a 2000 with a 4.0. we have look, may have over looked, but can't seem to find how high we can lift it with out changing the pinion angles. any help would be nice

Adjustable Control arms for the front and proper shims under the leafs in the rear.

how high can I go 2", 3" ect with out having to change the pinion angles?

I believe any amount of lift will change the pinion angle. As far as lifting without correcting the pinion angles I would say none. You will need an alignment when you lift it anyway so you may as well have them adjust pinion angle while their at it. There are also quite a few write ups detailing a home alignment that includes setting the pinion angles.

Vibes and bearing problems are not fun.

Doing an alignment is a cakewalk. You can adjust your pinion angle on the front while your at it. Google it, then grab yourself a tape measure and an angle finder.

Ya but you can adjust it on the bottom bolt of the lower Front control arms

thanks for the replies. I was told by a local that I could lift 4" with out changing any angles. being that I have to reangle anyways I am going with a 6" sl and a 2 in bl.

Wait, 6"sl? 2" bl? Please don't tell me your gonna lift it 8" on stock control arms, trackbars,etc....
