Pin hole in fuelline under intake , thoughts on fix?
On my 2000 xj I am in the process of changing the fuel injectors. When I disconnected the line at the fuel rail I noticed dripping down a way on the fuel line. It has a pin hole in the line where it bolts to the intake for support. Should I get a new line. Is there a new line available? My fix is to cut it out and replaced with a rubber hose. Thank God I found this it could have been bad...
Use efi rated line, not wiper tubing. And fuel injection line clamps. R
I used fuel line from the parts store and ran it a good inch into the hose on both ends. I'll order those clamps .Used the standard ones for now. At least by a fluke I figured out why the car would run odd and misfire on occasion.
I'd be going to the boneyard to find a suitable stainless replacement instead of rubber tubing it for the long run...It's way too much pressure to take the chance there so close to the exhaust pipe...A buddy of mine rubber hosed his fuel injection lines coming up from the back and it burned the whole truck to the ground...Nothing like 45 psi and a spraying fan of fuel in the engine bay...
