Hey guys i just purchased a 91 xj,i have a complete 8in ranger lift in the garage from my older ranger, now i was told i could use my 8in coils on the xj but the leafs wont work. What else would i need? Where would i be able to find drop brackets? Give me your thoughts guys.
I hyope your long arming it cuz i dont think 8 inch springs will work otherwise but not sure (look into that) you will need trac bar relocator and after market track bar to get your axle back close to center need and a drop pitman arm i would sudjest looking into doing the 44 knuckle swap with flat top knuckles so you can get better steering angles and then you could stick with a relativly short piman arm and it would work much better as for leaf springs yes s-10 springs or dakota springs will work but i would sudjest gewtting new ones from somplace like alcan or ithink the name is national spring . you will also want sye or for temp transfer case drop ect ect ect
good luck it would be sweet to have a lift like that bat consider strength of your axles when choosing tire sizes the Dana 30 front and Dana 35 arent exactly strong axles for serious wheeling but it all depends on what you do with it and how hard you are on it!
good luck let us know what parts and stuff you get and dont forget to do a write up
have fun good luck
