Ive got an 87 Cherokee and am wanting to do a fuel/ignition upgrade. I'm going to be upgrading to 5.0 injectors, 8 mm wires and some better plugs, but I wanted to upgrade the coil. My old 92, (that I gave to my wife), I had done the same to, minus the injectors. I was able to get a performance 43k volt coil out of Jegs for it to go along with the bigger wires. Then again, its an H.O. motor... As for the 87, I cant find crap for it but the stock coil. Does anyone or has anyone know of/found an aftermarket coil for the older motors? Or would I maybe be able to use an older style aftermarket GM or Ford coil in its place? Its just the male coil terminal, positive, ground, and a tach lead, so it should work, right? Any Ideas?
