when I start my 1991 XJ 4.0L in the morning when things are cool the volt meter is almost to 14 straight up) but in the afternoon when the weather is hot, the volt meter reads 10 or so, I understand the regulation is done in the PCM and not in the alt. I get 13.8 volts at the battery when the motor is running, some times the check engine light is on and the volts are very low ( in the red) and I have to shut it off and go wiggle the connector at the PCM, restart and the volts will be up and the check engine light will be off. Any one else ever see this ? what is the best way to clean the connector pins on the PCM ? I also notice that when I turn on the A/C and move the fan speed from slow to high, it pulls allot of current like it just isn't regulating....
