So my starter went out earlier this week and I replaced it with a reman one from advance auto. She starts up but not like it used to. With the old starter it was a (describing it the best I can) "ba ba vrooomm" which was good- fired right up. Now with the new starter its more of a "ba ba *pause* rrrooomm" as if you don't know if its going to turn over then it barely does.

Has anyone seen this before? Thanks.

 

My new starter acted kinda funny when I first put it on but it seemed to work its self in if that's what you want to call it.

Kinda curious on what starter you put on it tho,the one that cost 100$ more thats for the newer jeeps or did you use a older style one that is the same starter just cheaper?

Edit-disregard my statement about the older starter,the 98 is the old style already.It was 99 when they switched.

 

Yeah it seems to be getting a little better. It goes fine when the engines warm but cold starts seem to be really slow
