How old are the brake hoses? If you dont know, consider them overdue. They can deriorate from the inside out. Any chunks on the inside can fold over and block the flow of brake fluid. The metal part can also rust on the inside and do the same. If its not that, it could be a sticking caliper. Or sticking pins. Or the slides where the pads move are worn. This is one of those things you will have to get dirty for.

The hose is the last thing I'd suspect.

Absent any other cause the brake hose can surely collapse and cause sticking. However I agree he needs to pull them apart and have a good look. A big bottle of anti seize is a must here. Calipers stick all the time. Also the brackets tend to wear a groove that holds the pads into the rotors; this is a welding repair that is well documented up here.

Sitting for two years? I bet the piston is rusted/seized to caliper. Somewhat common issue for a sitting vehicle. If vehicle sits in grass than corrosion happens much faster.
