I have a 96 cherokee sport. will parts from a 92 bolt right on, or was there dif style between years.

While there are a lot of common parts, the electronics differ. The '96 has OBDII. If you were to swap the trans, you might have to swap the transfer case as well because there was a difference in spline count there somewhere. I'm thinkin' pre '92 and post '96 are more different than '92-'96.

You might want to buy that and just drop another engine in.

i would just buy the whole jeep,strip down the parts i need then sell the rest of it to get some of my money back,usally most parts will fit from 1984 thru 1996 except the earlier model had obd1 and the 96 and up had the obd2 scanner units.i have installed some parts on my 96 that came from an 89 laredo and a 86 cherokee so you should be ok.
