Been on here for awhile but first time posting a question on here.

Im hitting up a junkyard in my area on Saturday. They have quite a few older Cherokee's (pre 1993). Im just not sure how interchangeable some of the parts are for my 95 Cherokee Sport. I've searched around on here but haven't really found anything.

Door seal/molding for all the doors. Im pretty sure from 1990 to 1996 will fit. Is this correct or will all years fit?

The windshield surrounding (plastic piece). All years the same?

Hoping I can find a fuel sending unit. I think only 94 & 95 will fit. This correct?

Rear hatch lift supports? I think all years will fit.

Ive heard door seals from newer style fit and are thicker...winsheild not all xjs have a gasket older ones had glue ...hatch supports think your correct as for sending unit ld match up your plug

 

My understanding is as far as non-body components go, 91-95 are identical. Some stuff from 96 is good but not all. As far as body components, 91-96. Maybe even 87-96. The lift gate supports are universal.

What you could do to be certain is look up the component you need on pepboys.com and make note of the part #. Then change the vehicle year from 95 to whatever year you're pulling parts from to see if the part # is the same. I don't know if that will work with the door seal but should for the fuel sending unit at least. Let us know what you find. I'm curious myself.

 

Almost all body parts from 87-95 will fit. One side of my 94xj has an 88 fender on it and the header panel and bumper are both from an 88 as well the trim between the headlights is a little different but it all fits flush. Did the work myself when I got in a fender bender

 

Thanks for the input guys. The parts I was looking to get for mine were either already gone or pretty torn up. I knew finding a fuel sending unit was a long shot, guess i will stick with watching the trip.

Ended up buying new hatch supports from O'reilly's since they were only $19.99 a piece with lifetime warranty.
